Wiring Guidelines

Leads to the mains control gear output, the LED panel/board, the indicator LED and the battery should be kept separate from the mains (and DALI leads if used) for good EMC performance.

The maximum lead length from the LD/LDPro to the LED panel/board is 3 metres, for good EMC performance keep these leads as short as possible.

The maximum lead length from the LD/LDPro to the indicator LED and the battery is 1.0 metres.

First the correct LD or LDpro module should be selected, for help with this see the LD/LDpro Product Selector

Single LED panel/board

For a maintained emergency luminaire with a single LED panel/board.

Multiple LED panels/boards wired in series

For a maintained emergency luminaire with multiple LED panels/boards wired in series, it is usual for just one LED panel/board (or sometimes more, dependent upon the forward voltage) to operate in emergency mode. In normal mains mode all LED panels/boards will operate.

Multiple LED panels/boards wired in parallel

For a maintained emergency luminaire with multiple LED panels/boards wired in parallel, it is usual for all the LED panels/boards to operate in emergency and mains mode.
Note it is possible to operate just one LED panel/board in emergency mode if required, with all LED panels/boards operating in normal mains mode.
